Usually that is driven by calls from on-duty police officers. If snow starts to get deep after regular work hours, on-call street workers are notified. Drivers know during the winter they might work during the night, on weekends and holidays.

A: To serve beer, wine or alcohol within your place of business, you must first obtain a license from the State of Idaho, then obtain a license from Gooding County, and then make application with the City of Gooding. To make application for a state license, visit State of Idaho Alcohol Beverage Control Office at 700 S. Stratford Pl. in Meridian or call 884-7060. To make application for a county license visit the Gooding County Recorder’s Department at 624 Main Street or call 934-4841. To make application for a city license, visit the Office of the City Clerk, 308 5th Ave West, Gooding, or call 934-5669.
Q: Who approves my application for license?
A: All liquor, beer and wine licenses are approved by the City Council. Their regularly scheduled meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month. In order for your completed application to be acted on, they must be submitted to the Office of the City Clerk no later than the Wednesday prior to the meeting at 5:00 p.m.

Liquor Catering Permit Fee: $20 per day not to exceed 3 consecutive days
Q: Can I serve beer, wine, and/or alcohol on my deck or patio if I hold valid State, County and City licenses.
A: Only if the premise diagram/floor plan which you submitted to the State of Idaho with your application reflects these locations. If you failed to detail these locations on your State application, you may submit a modified premise diagram/floor plan which does encompass your patio or deck.
Q: How do I apply for a city alcohol beverage license?
A. To apply you must appear in person at the Office of the City Clerk and make application. In order to process your license application, you must have the following prerequisites and present them to the front counter staff at the time of the application:
- City of Gooding alcohol beverage license application;
- A current, signed copy of your state of Idaho alcohol beverage license, together with the written approval by the Division of Alcohol Beverage Control of your premises diagram/floor plan.
- A current, signed copy of your Gooding County alcohol beverage license;
- Appropriate fees.
Q: How do I renew my current city alcohol beverage license?
A: To apply you must submit the following information either in person or via mail. A copy of the previous years city license(s), a copy of the new State of Idaho and Gooding County licenses, and the appropriate fees. The renewal request will go before the Gooding City Council for approval at their regularly scheduled meeting.
Q: How do I apply for a city alcohol beverage catering permit?
A: To apply you must make application at the Gooding City Clerk’s Office. In order to process you permit application, you must have the following prerequisites and present them to the front counter staff at the time of application:
- City alcohol beverage catering permit application;
- Appropriate fees.
- Applications must be submitted 3 working days prior to the event. If applications are submitted less than 3 working days prior to the event, the City is not responsible for the application not being processed in time.
