The special meeting of the Mayor and Council of the City of Gooding, Idaho was called to order at 6:00 pm in the Gooding Municipal Building, 308 5th Ave West, Gooding, Idaho on May 22, 2017.
Present were Mayor Nelson, Councilpersons France, Houser, Magnelli and Arkoosh.
Present were City Clerk Hollye Lierman, Attorney Hobdey and Public Works Director Larry Bybee.
Present were Klyn Cheney, Linda Cheney and John Gough.
The purpose of the special meeting was to discuss the following items:
Terms of Collaborative Agreement By and Between Recharge Development and the City of Gooding: Councilman France suggested the Council get more input from Brockway Engineering and other contract holders with Recharge Development before taking further action.
Surplus Land: PWD Bybee stated the old gravel dump north of the tree yard has not been utilized by the city for some time. There is approximately 14.7 acres. PWD Bybee suggested a public auction to sale the property. The Council would like to look at the property before making a decision.
Airport Funding Plan and Scope of Work Agreement by GDA Engineering: The Council reviewed the AWOS (Automated Weather Observing Station) Design and Installation Project submitted by GDA Engineering.
Stop Sign at 5th and Colorado: PWD Bybee suggested putting stop signs at the intersection of 5th and Colorado due to extreme accidents that have occurred at the intersection. PWD Bybee suggested placing the stop signs on 5th Avenue East. The Council agreed that putting stop signs at the intersection of 5th and Colorado would help prevent future accidents at the intersection.
Idaho Code 49-623: Councilman Magnelli stated he spoke to Fire Chief Covey regarding citizen complaints about his excess of speed through town. Fire Chief Covey presented Idaho Code 49-623 to Councilman Magnelli.
There being no further business, Councilman France made a motion to adjourn. Motion seconded by Councilman Arkoosh. Motion carried.
The meeting adjourned at 6:46 pm.
